As elegant as casual gets, our Madison Suit represents the epitome of soft tailoring. Both easy-wearing and sharp, it’s what the Italian courtier, diplomat, and author Baldassare Castiglione must have had in mind when he coined the term sprezzatura to describe effortless nonchalance. The fabric, which comes to us from the renowned Duca Visconti mill, is a medium-wale black cotton corduroy with a touch of stretch for comfort. It has a relaxed fit, with a natural shoulder and a slightly nipped-in waist. Details include a double vent in the back and a lightweight butterfly lining. There’s also a chest pocket known as a barchetta (Italian for “little boat”) because the sleek curvature of the pocket resembles a small skiff. Oh, and did we mention there are matching pants available, too?


Duca Visconti is a famed Italian mill in the foothills of the alps that’s been making corduroy, velvet and other exceptionally well-crafted fabrics for nearly 200 years.
